Mijn werkboeken zijn onlosmakelijk onderdeel van mijn werkproces. Bij grotere projecten fungeren ze als een extern geheugen: ik verzamel en rangschik er mijn gedachtes en ideeën. Een werkboek is gevuld met plaatjes, schetsen, aantekeningen, drukproeven, kleurkeuzes, knipsels en materiaalstalen. Het zijn visuele notities van alles wat er zich rondom het project in mijn hoofd afspeelt. Ze helpen de fluïde beelden en sferen concreet te maken en geven me inzicht over wat ik met het project hoop te bereiken.

My sketchbooks are an integral part of my artistic process. When I work on a project they serve as an external memory, a place where I collect and arrange my thoughts and ideas. A sketchbook is filled with pictures, sketches, notes, printing proofs, colour swatches, cut-outs and material samples. These visual notes help me to catch the fluid images and atmospheres in my head and show me the things I hope to achieve with the project.
